...drugstore treasure: beauty brand...

beauty gurus have been whispering the name "jesse's girl" more and more lately.
(and no they're not talking about the song lol)

everytime i pass they're little section at rite aid, which i have to add is
getting bigger and bigger by the days, i am curious to see
what they're really about. then a friend asked me to do a review
on them- how could i say no!??!?!!?
(hmm was she reading my mind?? scary!)
so one day i chose two pigments to try out.
being very impressed i decided to pick up some more and
I AM PLEASENTLY SUPRISED!!!

jesse's girl has been around for some time but it's not until recently
they they're beginning to catch wind and expanding their collection.

first up their kohl formula eyeliners & lipliners

these are great liners!! they're quality is amazing, the pigmentation is so true
and they go on silky smooth! i abs hate liners that drag your skin- like
do i really need you to give me premature wrinkles?? don't think so!

*the blue steel in this pic doesn't do it justice- live it's a much brighter blue.

my favorite part about these liners is that they come with a sharpener on the tops!

now onto their pigments

first i have to let you know the pain in the you know what the
packaging is. the biggest disappointment!! they come wrapped in plastic and
THEN when you get the plastic off you have them sealed with a sticker.
yes im AAALLLLLL for hygenic safety but PLEASE explain to me
how this sticker is the only place where you can find the NAME OF THE PIGMENT?!

ummmm what happens when you throw this sticker
out bc you're so anxious to open the damn pot that you
just throw it out and then later realize you don't even
know what this color that you just fell in love with is called?!?!?!?!
and i'm NOT saying that it happened to me the first time around
(well maybe hehehehe)

(DISCLAIMER: please ignore my ragged nails- it's been a long week! lol)

well if you know me you know that i do not give into defeat.
sooooooo i realized that the sticker is small enough to fit on the bottom of the
pot very conveniently, letting you keep the name of the pigment!!
yes, yes i know im a genius :)
(or maybe they intended it to be like this)
(and if they did then these little things need to come with instructions :/ )

VOILA!!!!!

so the pigments are great BUT they are great on top of a white base.
all the swatches below were placed on top of NYX's Jumbo Pencil in Milk. this is the
only way that you will get true pigmentation. i spread the color out
onto the part of my skin that did not have the base and you could tell
that you only get a shimmer of the color. BUT aside from that
the colors are beautiful and i def am looking forward to working with them more.

keep in mind that all of their pigments are shimmery- there are no
matte pigments so you would need to work with matte shadows
bc you do not want to spread shimmer shadows all over your lid-
unless of course you're working at the circus. if that's the case then spread away!!

my favorite's are indian summer and sunstone.
i can't wait to use sunstone as a highlight!!!

plus you can't beat those prices!!!!

i'm planning on picking some more pigments this weekend bc i
love the results of these. they also have a range of other products:
lippies, glosses, mascara, etc but these were the ones that caught my attention.
i did pick up a gloss and i really liked it BUT, being me, i misplaced it.
i'm sure it's in one of my many bags lol.

what do you guys think? do you like them? have a favorite?

let me know- i love getting feedback!

also if you have a request for any review leave me a comment below.
you can also email me at beautymarkyuli@gmail.com

till next time!!
