i am a HUGE believer in beauty coming from within. and no, its none of that bs of being nice, caring and the whole nine (don't get me wrong- this IS the way you should be) BUT what i'm talking about is taking care of yourself and the temple that is your body.



let's face facts- if you do not FEEL GOOD then you won't LOOK GOOD. it doesn't matter how much makeup you put on or what clothes you buy- the truth will show through it all.

with that being said- i have come across the holy grail- Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin's Skinny Bitch


i've heard it all before and it has never made more sense or had a bigger impact than what this book has had on me AND IM ONLY ON PAGE 41!!!

i've learned all sorts of interesting and mostly disgusting facts about the food that is out there that now i know what i should and should not be putting in my mouth.

my favorite thing about this book is the no nonsense tough love they use on their readers. like no one can set the facts straighter than they have.



see for yourself in this excerpt "you need to exercise, you lazy shit. eating properly will dramatically improve your health, body, and all aspects of your life... over-excercising can also cause low body-fat levels... you want to be a skinny bitch, not a scrawny bitch"

seriously- how can you not LOVE them??

and before you go off the cliff thinking that this is a get skinny like the models book you are WRONG. this is a get healthy so you live a long life book.



they clearly say: "we really couldn't care less about being skinny. don't get scared or upset; you will definitely lose weight if you adopt the Skinny Bitch lifestyle. however, our real hope is for you to become healthy. we don't want anyone to be obsessed with getting skinny. when you eat right and excercise, you feel strong and healthy and confident. you start loving your body- not because you lose weight- but because you feel great."

under the weather...

hi my beautiful friends

i've been MIA bc i've been under the weather

oh how i hate being sick!!! i tried to nip it in the butt but i feel that it's creeping back up. my head feels like a balloon is inflating inside ever so slowly. my nose decides to let air in and out whenever it feels like it. and my body, ooooh my body hurts!

the only good thing about this is that i've been masterminding some great material for future posts.

(siiigggghhhhhh what a name! lol)

this little jar of velvety magic is one of the most amazing primers i have ever tried. this little potion helps hide all the little imperfections and creates smooth flawless skin.

it really does leave a airbrushed-esque effect and i love it!

after applying a nice moisturizer take a tiny bit and smooth over cheeks, forehead and nose concentrating on areas that are more pore visible and wrinkled.

don't add too much or else your skin will come out oily versus smooth and fresh.

finish off with your beauty routine and see great results!!!

my favorite time of the year is here- HALLOWEEN BWAHAHAHAA :0

this month will be completely devoted to costumey looks.

the first one up is an inspiration from the beautiful masks that are featured this time of year



but of course i had to do all this on my own- and this is what i got...













i wanted it to be magically icy so i used blues and white as the base of the mask.
then add gold glitter for the sparkle effect.
the lips i kept a soft pink and the cheeks were accentuated in a bright pink.

what i love about this is that its a quick fix to those of you that find yourselves without costumes come the 31st. just take out your makeup, mix the colors and get to work!

today was the most perfect sunday ever! i did absolutely nothing and was able to relax and catch up on my to-do list :)

i also got a chance to do my nails (double yay). i havent done them in a while and i was starting to go through withdrawal.

this week i wanted to do something fun so i went with something that's being seen everywhere= GLITTER

i started off with a very romantic color essie's "not just a pretty face"

how romantic is this color?? i love it.

this is with three coats

and how adorable the name??

this is such a beautiful color but for this week i wanted something xtra special and fun. so i decided to add sinful color's "i miss you"

i love the subtle hint of fun this glitter polish adds.

plus it also has a super cute name :)

i love layering colors to get new ones and different effects.

so open up your nail polish bag and get creative :)

makeup essential: primers

hi dolls!

ever get tired of your eyeshadow running down your lids, getting creased or looking pale and barely there? yes? well i have your solution!!



many beauties don't know the importance of eyeshadow primers!!
primers are essential to your makeup stash because they are used as a base to hold and maintain the eyeshadows on your lids. they also help to bring out the pigmentation of the shadow, making your look more vibrant and not washed out.

my all time fav primer is UDPP- Urban Decay Primer Potion



this primer is the best in the biz. i love the smooth texture that it has. the durability is also amazing!! my eyeshadow always lasts with this primer and i wouldn't trade it for any other. it also comes in sin- a shimmery gold base.

unfortunately i ran out of UDPP :( so i started using a new primer-

NYX's Eyeshadow Base



and to my surprise i was very very pleased!!
well, not really to my surprise because NYX has amazing products so i didn't expect any less when i tried their eyeshadow base.
the great thing about this primer is that it comes in three tones: nude, white and pearl.
the white base is perfect when you're using more colorful shadows like yellows, purples and blues- it helps bring out the vibrancy of the color.
the skin tone is great for your classic nude eye (my fav!)
the pearl finish is more for when you're going for a shimmery look vs a matte one.

i have also heard great things about the Too Faced Shadow Insurance



personally i haven't tried it but i am very curious to. maybe i'll pick this up on my next Sephora run. but if YOU have tried it let me know how you like it.

there are a ton of other primers from MUFE, Laura Mercier, etc. but these are my favs. which one is yours??
